EHR integration

A defining characteristic of our platform is its integration support. Our integration engine, Gateway, sits downstream from the EPR/PAS or TIE and is read and write capable. We consume outbound HL7 messages (supporting 2.x to FHIR) and make the data available for consumption via our Internet APIs in real time.

Our custom HL7 query interface can write data back to most EPR platforms, populating clinical workflows, updating appointment slots and adding data to patients’ medical records (where appropriate).

Our API stack is open, so any partners providing patients with connected devices can use Gateway as a broker, enabling EPR write back of approved connected device data

Appointments

Managing hospital appointments is complex, expensive and time consuming for both patients and NHS staff. Our patient portal has been built from the ground up with appointment management as a core function, ensuring a robust and friction free patient experience. We deliver significant cost savings and overall efficiency gains via:

  • True patient self-service –admin staff do not need to respond to requests or intervene manually. It’s fully automatic.
  • A complex rules engine that maps RTT targets, appointment dependencies and other critical medical scheduling considerations -all configurable by speciality, sub-specialty or patient cohort.

Outpatient Video Consultations

The benefits of remote appointments, especially for routine follow ups, are clear. When combined with intelligent slot management, patients can book a follow up online when they need one, as opposed to being assigned an appointment every 6 months that many simply don’t need.

Our key focus has been on ease of use. Our video platform runs in a browser (desktop or mobile) and, unlike Skype or other solutions, requires no plugin, setup or download. It just works.

Additionally, we can support ML driven speech to text encoding, allowing a PDF transcript of the consultation to be attached to the patient record.

Protocol driven questionnaires

Our platform allows rapid deployment of clinically designed forms. Patients are invited to participate via SMS, at the relevant point in their treatment pathway. Our forms support score generation. Both the structured data and the overall score can be securely written back into the patient record as patient originated clinical events.

Basic surveys

Zesty also enables outpatient specialties to capture patient feedback post treatment, including PROMs / PREMs initiatives and the friends and family test.

Connected device data

Patients can be ‘prescribed’ a device. Our system can then capture data from devices and make this available to the patient via the records section of the Zesty platform. Additionally, we can ‘broker’ data back into the EPR platform, ensuring remote data is available to the clinical team within their existing workflows.

SMS

The Zesty platform includes a powerful outbound SMS engine. Messages can be configured on a wide range of parameters, including clinic code, clinician, patient demographics or patient behaviour.

We support 2 way responsive SMS, allowing patients to manage simple processes by simply replying within their SMS application.

Our platform verifies the patient’s identity via a completely remote 2 factor authentication engine. Using demographic data held in your EPR, we ensure patients are, in fact, who they say they are.

We support 2 tier identity management, allowing patients to onboard easily and remotely, but requiring a subsequent in person ID check before access to more sensitive medical data is enabled.

Zesty are engaged with NHS Digital as an early beta partner and will integrate with the service when it becomes available during 2019.
